CAPITOL HILL MORNINGs

Witness government in action during this 3-hour walking tour as we explore the Capitol Hill campus and discuss how a single idea can become the law of the land. See where decisions are made that shape American life and create history in real time. Written for ages 14 and up, but all are welcome.

  • Capitol Grounds: Walk the Olmsted-designed campus and learn the inner workings of American democracy. See the Capitol dome from the outside and time permitting, visit the Capitol Visitors Center museum.

  • Halls of Power: Sit inside a House Committee Room where representatives debate, mark up, and hold hearings on legislation. Then venture beneath the surface into the historic and vast tunnel network connecting the Hill.

  • Supreme Court & Library of Congress: Gain insights into the highest court in the land and see the world's largest library.
